Edition 39 – Familiar Feelings, Fresh Discoveries
Welcome to Edition 39 of barnsy – old school / new styles.
Recorded LIVE in Coventry on 31 August 2026, this 21-track mix delivers nearly one hour and 50 minutes of progressive house, melodic electronic music, reimagined classics and euphoric dancefloor memories.
The journey opens with Dolly Parton’s Jolene transformed by Destructo, followed by CamelPhat’s powerful remix of Fatboy Slim’s Right Here, Right Now. From there, fresh music from Ezequiel Arias, Atlantis, OCULA, Robin Schulz and others gradually builds the energy.
Familiar records appear in completely new surroundings, including Satisfaction, Natural Blues, As The Rush Comes, Hey Boy Hey Girl and Café del Mar. The final section celebrates some of dance music’s most memorable melodies through Don’t You Worry Child, Better Off Alone, Airwave and Beachball, before I Wish You Well provides an emotional moment and Hey Everybody brings the edition home with uplifting energy.
Edition 39 captures everything old school / new styles represents: reconnecting you with music you already love while introducing you to tracks you didn’t know you were going to love.

Fiji (Yeadon Extended Mix) - Atlantis

I'm telling you, you are in for an absolute classic of a ride. BG. This is the year done extended mixed by Atlantis, I think.
Satisfaction (Extended Mix) - Benny Benassi, David Guetta
SPEAKER_00Longe, old school, new styles. I can tell you I've been DJing for four or five decades now, and I remember when I first played Fiji, it was in a bar in Stratford, a bar that went on to become God's Kitchen. And the amazing stuff that they did. But when it landed, when it hit, when it was played, that Transi thing just enchanted the dance floor. Like this.

As The Rush Comes (AVIRA Extended Mix) - Gabriel & Dresden, Motorcycle, JES
SPEAKER_00When this came out originally, I only had it on CD. I remember playing it on the radio back in the day on a dance music drive time show. And I just had to play the full seven and a half minute version. That was the edit, the full version of 10. This is just magical. From the vocals of Jacob Lask on natural blues, to the vocals of JES as the rush comes from Gabrielle and Dress to enjoy this.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna get a lot of money.
Summer In New York (Illyus & Barrientos Extended Mix) - Sofi Tukker
SPEAKER_00From one amazing vocal to another one. Not so amazing, well, it is in its own right, but by grief, is it catchy? Get ready for summer in New York by Sophie Tucker. You're listening to Bouncy, V-A-R-N-S-Y.
SPEAKER_07I've got no destination, T. I've got all day along just to walk down the street. I start on second hand, making my way downtown to you. Maybe I'll make a start at bang and get myself a new tattoo. Then I'll sum me a secret card. Just here have a look at people and have the stories. Maybe she's an entrepreneur. Maybe he just got off the toy. Now we have acting in happen. We've picked up a friend or two. Maybe this morning we were strangers, but not by this afternoon. We hang until the sun comes up. And I'm gonna go somebody move top. Go to the box and have a ball at six or seven distant clubs. Output as Christy Street, I'm the mess without the studio with an accent. I'm always changing, but of course the city always adore the side is what the city's for the serenity of summer in New York.
